A message from Rick about who he is and why he is running:

I am a former Assistant District Attorney for the Cape and Islands and currently a criminal lawyer. I have been practicing law on Cape Cod for twenty-four years. I served as a Barnstable Town Councilor for twelve years and continue to be active in the community. My wife and I are raising our two children in Cotuit. I care about the communities here on the Cape and the Islands where my kids are growing up, where my mother has retired, and where my family, friends, and neighbors live.

BARNSTABLE, LET’S TALK TRASH!

June 25, 2014

Trash CanPay As You Throw

.. will save Barnstable residents and visitors money and increase recycling rates!

Join us for a presentation by the Barnstable Renewable Energy Commission about Pay As You Throw:

July 9, at 7pm
Centerville Library,
Main Street, Centerville

The Barnstable Town Council has been reviewing options for trash and recycling. Our contract with Covanta (Semass) will be ending and all options mean higher fees for us.  Additionally, our town has the lowest recycling percentage in the region; this actually costs us all money and means we are not doing our part to reduce waste.
Pay As You Throw is an innovative way to save us money while increasing recycling. Join us to learn about this program before your elected officials make a decision that will impact your wallet.

DO YOU KNOW:

  • RECYCLING CAN SAVE YOU AND YOUR TOWN MONEY?
  • BARNSTABLE RESIDENTS HAVE THE LOWEST RECYCLING RATE IN THIS REGION – 16%?
  • YOUR TOWN COUNCIL IS CONSIDERING NEW OPTIONS FOR TRASH DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING?
  • REGARDLESS OF THE CHANGES YOUR TRANSFER STATION STICKER OR TRASH HAULER FEES WILL INCREASE?

Recycle_Logo_copyWe have the opportunity to change the way we do business at our transfer station and with our trash-haulers. Join us to learn more about it.

Sponsored by the Barnstable Democratic Town Committee.
