.. will save Barnstable residents and visitors money and increase recycling rates!
Join us for a presentation by the Barnstable Renewable Energy Commission about Pay As You Throw:
July 9, at 7pm
Main Street, Centerville
The Barnstable Town Council has been reviewing options for trash and recycling. Our contract with Covanta (Semass) will be ending and all options mean higher fees for us. Additionally, our town has the lowest recycling percentage in the region; this actually costs us all money and means we are not doing our part to reduce waste.
Pay As You Throw is an innovative way to save us money while increasing recycling. Join us to learn about this program before your elected officials make a decision that will impact your wallet.
DO YOU KNOW:
- RECYCLING CAN SAVE YOU AND YOUR TOWN MONEY?
- BARNSTABLE RESIDENTS HAVE THE LOWEST RECYCLING RATE IN THIS REGION – 16%?
- YOUR TOWN COUNCIL IS CONSIDERING NEW OPTIONS FOR TRASH DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING?
- REGARDLESS OF THE CHANGES YOUR TRANSFER STATION STICKER OR TRASH HAULER FEES WILL INCREASE?
Sponsored by the Barnstable Democratic Town Committee.
