Join us August 6 from 5:30-7:30 to support Rick Barry

July 30, 2014

Let’s show our support for Rick Barry and his campaign for District Attorney. The numbers are in his favor, but he needs our support.

Please join us for a Mid-Cape Campaign Kick-Off for Rick Barry:

Wednesday, August 6
5:30 – 7:30 pm

Ocean’s 235 Restaurant
235 Ocean Street, Hyannis
(Google map location below)

Rick Barry is running for the office of District Attorney because he believes we need a change.

He sees firsthand the problems that allow criminals to avoid punishment while those who should be in rehabilitation programs are sent to jail. He is concerned that not enough resources are devoted to create or improve preventative and rehabilitation programs. He believes a district attorney should be more involved in the communities he serves and less focused on political fundraising and favors for friends. He believes our court system must move into the 21st century. He needs our help and support to win this election.

**ELECTION DAY – TODAY** we have a challenge for you!

June 25, 2013

DSC_0587Driving by the polls this morning – things seem a bit too quiet.

So here is a challenge:

Get out and vote and make sure that at LEAST two other people you know who will vote for Ed Markey also get out and vote.  Don’t just tell them – FOLLOW UP.  Ask them to let you know what the count was when they voted – give them something to report back to you.

Today, make yourself responsible for more than your own vote.  Remember 2010?

Leave a comment – tell us how, even if you haven’t been part of a team making calls or knocking on doors, you were responsible for more than your own vote today!

Wondering where to vote? This form tells you what precinct you live/vote in:

http://www.wheredoivotema.com/bal/myelectioninfo.aspx

May 1, 2013

The Barnstable Democratic Town Committee welcomes State Treasurer Steve Grossman May 15, 2013 at 7pm at the Centerville Rec. Building on 524 Main St. in Centerville. Link to map
Steve-Grossman

Steve was elected treasurer in 2010, since then Steve has delivered on his promise to put all Treasury contracts out to competitive bid, Grossman saving taxpayers over $11 million in reduced service fees and administrative costs. He has established the Small Business Banking Partnership, which has deposited over $250 million of Treasury cash reserve funds in community banks to help grow Massachusetts small businesses and promote job creation. And by reforming management practices and utilizing innovative marketing approaches, Grossman oversaw a record-breaking fiscal year in 2012, with the Massachusetts State Lottery earning an unprecedented $981 million in net profit for taxpayers and the Unclaimed Property Division returning over $93 million worth of cash, stock and mutual funds to their rightful owners.

This meeting will be open to the public, please join us for updates on his initiatives followed by questions and answers.

The BDTC regular meeting will be held prior to Steve’s visit – at 6pm – our regular meeting is open to all Barnstable Democrats.
